Principal  Environmental Engineer

My client is a specialist environmental consultancy that has been providing services to the infrastructure, mining and oil and gas industries for over 30 years. They have successfully completed work for over 200 different clients from all over the world and have over 80 staff in their offices Australia wide. Amongst other areas, their expertise includes Environmental Management, Environmental and Social Impact assessments, GIS and technical advice.

Despite the current financial crisis, they are experiencing significant growth through their reputation and strategic direction and so are looking for a talented Principal to join their team in Perth .

Ideally, you will have extensive previous experience in environmental consulting, including Environmental and Social Impact assessments You will also have the ability to help bring in work for yourself and the company.

What you need:

• Tertiary qualification – ideally Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
• Around 10 – 15 + years previous experience including consulting work
• Ability and desire to bring in work via reputation or business development
• Extensive previous experience – particularly in ESIA
• Familiarity with engineering design, construction and operation phases of major mining or infrastructure projects

Your role will include:

• Strategic leadership and technical direction role reporting directly to the CEO
• Providing leadership, delegation and management of junior staff
• Client liaison, marketing activities and business development
• Some travel within Australia and overseas
